About the Project
The SAGE project aims to develop a system that enables teachers to create virtual reality-based educational environments without needing technical knowledge. To this end, the project targets the design, development and evaluation of an editor with which teachers can create virtual reality environments. Within the scope of the project, an editor in which teachers can design three-dimensional virtual environments, a cloud-based infrastructure where this content will be stored and shared, and an application through which students can access these environments on their mobile devices are being developed.
Thanks to the system, teachers will be able to create virtual scenes with a drag-and-drop approach, add objects, define animations and share this content with their students. Students, in turn, will be able to access these environments through their smartphones and affordable cardboard virtual reality headsets.
The aim of the project is to turn virtual reality into an accessible educational tool so that teachers can make their lessons more interactive and experience-based. In this way, the project seeks to support the creation of technology-enriched learning environments and to contribute to teachers developing innovative teaching materials.
